A backdated summary

So this little holiday is over, I’m back at called to fish. Hope you enjoyed my holiday hehehe!

I got home today after a week’s holiday in Sharjah. Although I have exams at school starting Monday, I didn’t use my books much while I was there. I learnt a lot about managing a house, cooking, doing dishes and being a woman. I was taught by God also about sin and living a careful, prayerful life in Jesus. I’m lacking there right now in many respects, but I’m learning. Those whom the Lord loves, he reproves and disciplines- as he did me this week, and he loves me a lot.

I watched 4 movies, all in Hindi – Vivah, Rehguzar, Apna Sapna Money Money and Dhoom: 2. Vivah was my favourite of these 4, it showed decency and love and peace with two families who wed a daughter and a son respectively, through an arranged system. It is good when movies have positive morals and encourage the youth (or even old people, depending upon what audience is targetted). Selling sex just because it sells is shallow and corrupting… sin is crouching at the door, but we must master it. I am considering giving up on watching a few types of movies.

I didn’t shop too much, I was very happy not to bring back bags full of junk. I already have too much stuff that needs to be chucked out or given away. But I bought drawing books and stickers, and chocolate- that sounds artistic, doesn’t it? I’m hoping to get started on some of my artistic ambitions soon. And I need to work very seriously on a layout and plan for my magazine… if God willing I hope to release it before the summer of 2007.

Cricket World Cup coming up in just a few months, my cousin tells me. Big deal… lol.

I need to read my Bible a lot more. I am looking for a good reading plan. As of now I am considering reading the Bible backwards… from Revelation to Genesis? I wonder if that would work. The Bible is such a great book, so much love and so much God all through it. Always blows me away. The New Testament is a lot deeper than it seems at first reading. I’ve been seeing that every day since I became christian, 413 days ago.

Isn’t it creepy to be a woman in the UAE?
